The Challenge

The average young person will spend 2 hours daily on social media, adding up to 7 years of their lifetime. 3.8 billion people globally are addicted to their phones, yet current solutions fail because they treat this as an individual willpower problem. The consequences? A disconnected generation with proven negative mental and physical health.

The Opportunity

Snitch treats screen addiction like any other addiction: with accountability. Instead of relying on willpower, we turn it into a shared responsibility. Users join accountability groups and set shared limits across their most addictive apps. When one person scrolls, the group’s combined timer counts down. This builds awareness, encourages reflection, and creates small behavioural shifts that have proven to compound over time.

Freemium. The entire group goes premium for £7.99 per Month. Premium groups allow users access to group size > 2, extra app blocking features and special rewards for meeting goals.

Competition

1. We have 23% retention, ~2× competitors, driven by social accountability. Users can’t just quit when their friend is in it with them.
2. We are the only app that literally links friends’ screen time allowances together.
3. We reward reduced screen time with real-world, offline experiences and community.

Traction

We launched the app publicly two weeks ago and we’ve already helped 300+ users cut their screen time down by 63% on addictive apps = 2880 hours.
We’ve surveyed these users and 68% were willing to pay.
We’ve spent 0 marketing dollars and just through organic growth we have reached 163,000 viewers.
